About COBOC

City of Birmingham Orienteering Club ( COBOC ) was founded in 1991 by Glynn Roberts from the Solihull orienteering club SOLOS. It is one of the youngest orienteering clubs in the West Midlands. Our primary aim is to promote orienteering in areas and groups not catered for by the larger "mainstream" clubs in the area. We are affiliated to British Orienteering. For details please click here All COBOC activities such as training and events are registered with British Orienteering who provide those organising and taking part in such events with public liability insurance. COBOC has worked closely with the Birmingham City Council recreation and education departments. We have been successful in promoting orienteering in schools, youth groups, and the inner city areas. Traditional city parks and small areas of urban woodland have been used to bring newcomers to the sport.
